Welcome Coaches!

My name is Scott Miller and I am a high school softball coach. I have been coaching softball for 10 years at the high school level, and I provide private hitting lessons to college players. I have had the privilege of working some great coaches and some great players. I also played for very good coaches while in college.

Since I began coaching I have always picked coaches’ brains about how they prepare for a season, just trying to see if they were doing something that I could use. I have always been able to get something new and I have never been afraid to try new ideas. Sometimes the new ideas worked and other times they did not. Either way, I improved my knowledge and ability as a coach. I am going to be posting to this blog as I prepare my team for the season. I will include everything, from planning prior to tryouts, to the first pitch of that first game of the season. I am currently coaching at a a small high school in Kansas. This program is in its second year of existence, and I have been brought in to get the program off to a good start. Due to weather conditions, we will hold practices both outdoors and indoors. I hope that you can pick something out that will help you and your players and I hope that you will leave comments for me and other coaches to read.
